Euro Fun Park Revisited

Ferris Wheel

I spent the Deepavali weekend over at mum’s place with the kids. Yesterday evening, we decided to give the kids a treat and brought them to Euro Fun Park since we didn’t have anything planned for them for the long weekend. The park set itself up at Aeon Bukit Tinggi’s carpark, like the last time they set themselves up at the 1Utama carpark when we brought a duck-walking Ivan almost 3 years ago.

Ride #1

Like previously, they charged entrance fees of RM3 for adults and RM2 for kids 3 to 12 years old. On top of the entrance fees, we have to pay for rides as well… mostly costing 2 tokens (RM2 for 1 token). Needless to say, the kids had fun and for just a short 2 hours of fun we spent about RM140 in total.

Ride #3

I guess it’s considered money well spent, as going for a short trip away from home would cost much more than this. And what’s more, the photography buff in me just couldn’t miss this chance of trying out panning technique on the merry-go-round.

Izac on Merry-Go-Round

As you can see from the picture, I was wondering why Izac’s got that stoned face while Ivan was absolutely ecstatic! I was afraid that he got scared on some of the rides. It turned out that he was merely so tired that he conked out as soon as we reached home.

Bowling Boys

(Backdated post, bowled on 20th July 2008)

Bowling Lane with Sides Up

My 2 boys just love to go rolling bowling (yes, yes, Izac included!). Last last weekend, after having dinner at 1U and with me rushing off to buy some last minute things for baby, SIL#1 decided that we should bring the kids to U-Bowl. Upon hearing SIL#1’s suggestion, of course there was no escape as the kids kept reminding us of it. I think including this session, they have bowled a total of 3 or 4 times already.

Ivan the Strong!

After bowling a few times before, Ivan “the strong” has had all the experience he need and is able to help himself to a ball at the conveyor, carry it and roll it all by himself (by the way, we had the sides raised so there’s no way their bowling balls could go in the drain and the lightest 6-pound ball can be requested from the counter). He refused to quit at 1 game, so the kids had 2 games.

Ivan the Roller!

Izac also had fun rolling the ball, with help from SIL#1 and also Uncle Kenny. However, it took forever for the ball to reach the end of the line *LOL*. Being a pregnant mum, what can I do but sit at the sidelines with fear, watching the kids prance around the slippery wooden floor with their socks (non-slip for Izac). Ivan was like a little monkey doing a breakdance kind of move there *sweats*.

Izac With Help from Kenny

By the time we reached home, it was already around 11-ish pm. During bedtime, Ivan told me his muscle hurts so I had to massage the little king’s right leg. What a day!

Chalking Up Some Fun

Yesterday after fetching Ivan home from school, I urge the children to take a nap. Izac took a nap between 3.30pm until 4.30pm and was awaken by Ivan. Ivan, who didn’t sleep all this while, said he wanted to sleep when 6.00pm came around. For me, a naptime before 4.30pm is still considered ok, any later than that and the kids will be “owls” come night time.

Ikea Chalks

Chalk Chalk Chalk

So instead of letting him sleep, I took out the box of chalks which I bought from Ikea recently and told them that they could draw on the cement floor outside (these are the times I’m thankful for our unrenovated porch area). Of course the kids were excited… can get dirty and not be scolded *hehehe*. At the same time, I was able to let Ivan do some drawing which he loves to do nowadays. Below are some examples of his “monsters”…

Ivan Drawing

Ivan's Artwork

Izac on the other hand, just had fun getting dirty… he didn’t do much drawing, probably coz mommy was busy snapping pictures and not helping him with it (next time, I promise!). After some attempts at scribbling or rolling the chalk around, the little one took off his slippers and started walking around barefooted. I kept reminding him NOT to go inside the house and to let Supini carry him straight into the toilet for a bath. As usual, no one heeds advise and I get chalky footprints on the kids’ day mattress o.O”.

Izac at Work

Izac Dirty

It was a short but fun activity, something to do in the evenings when the sun is not scorching. It also kept the kids (Ivan, in this case) from sleeping before dinner time. So I guess, this was a win-win situation *winks*.

Pool Time & Meeting Ultraman

I can’t seem to finish jotting down everything that’s happened last weekend, it truly is a fully packed weekend. This should be the last installment. For Sunday, after going to the wet market with my friend Jenny and stocking up on food for the week, we (maid and I) managed to finish hanging out the baby’s clothes for drying.

After that, I packed some clothes and the kids (also the maid lah) and off we went to Jenny’s house for a cooking session and later a dip in the pool for the children. Don’t know since when, but we kinda started this random weekend cookout mainly because both of us aren’t great cooks, and rather than spending the weekend aimlessly in the malls, we spend it over at her place. It’s a relaxing time, nothing much to elaborate… just some pictures to show *grins*.

The Fishes

The kids took a nap after swimming. By 6pm, I woke them up and rushed home as I promised to bring Ivan to Ikano for Ultraman Max’s picture taking session. We we’re nearly late for the 1 hour picture session as Ivan-the-little-vainpot decided that he wants to be difficult and choose his own clothes. After that, he insisted that I had to wear it for him. Of course he kena scolded like mad by me (which I will talk about in another post).

So we finally reach Ikano, and the queue was a million miles long. But luckily we were just in time as after a while the authorities came and cut off the line, meaning they’re not accepting any more fans. It turned out that we have to spend RM19.90 for any CD at Speedy to be able to take pictures with Ultraman Max. I wasn’t informed of this when I bought the CD last week, so what to do… buy another for the boy lor.

Ultraman & Monster

Ivan, the ultimate Ultraman fan

After the queue and all that, I was just glad the weekend is over. (Hmm… notice Ultraman Max kept holding onto his mask? Maybe it’s too heavy. And he had to take a break in the middle of it all, I heard the authorities say he’s sweating like mad in there :S). We had a late dinner and after that we went home. I need a rest, man.

The aftermath…

::::::::::: IVAN SAYS :::::::::::

Ivan: “Mommy, so nice hoh, take picture with Ultraman!”
Mommy: “Yeah, luckily we reached there on time.”
Ivan: “So nice, but his hand so smelly.”
Mommy: o.O” “Eh, really?! I don’t know wor, Ultraman only hold your hand. Maybe he hold so many people’s hand that’s why smelly.”

Family, Playtime, Ramblings, Scrapbook

Whoops… has it been a week already?! I meant to post on Monday, or Tuesday, or Wednesday, or Thursday… (well, you get the picture) but somehow or other, I went to sleep night after night after night. Must really get out of this lazy habit coz I do have tonnes to say.

Last Saturday I actually went for my company’s annual dinner… if you’re interested about that event, do read all about it >>here<<. Beware though, I think it’s more of a rant than a review *teehee*.

So on Sunday, since both kids were feeling fine (meaning no flu or whatsoever), I decided to bring them to SIL#1’s condo for a swim. Ivan always jump for joy when he hears the word “swim”. He just love to play with water, but when it comes to asking him to take a bath… aiyooo! Izac had tonnes of fun too but he was only allowed in the pool for a short while as it was quite windy and the water was cold *brrrr*.

As always, I invited my mum to bring her kids over coz Ivan will be quite bored if he were to only swim with Izac (not to mention that they are fighter c*cks). The kids really had fun as there is a slide at the pool too. I plan to bring them swimming every other weekend since it’s really a very good exercise for them, and it’s more relaxing than to go jostling about in shopping complexes (which means I can spend less too *hehehe*)!

It was a quiet day, just hanging out and swimming, then for dinner we went to Carrefour’s food court. When we were there, I saw those cutie kids sofa which I have been eyeing on for quite some time now (didn’t I just mention about not spending money? *duh*). The price tag shows RM165 but when i asked the lady if there’s any discount on it, she immediately lowered it to RM120 per piece… so I bought 2! They just look so cute!

Izac's Sofa

Ivan's Sofa

Both of them

I think these are really a good buy as we’re kind of lacking place for people to sit in our living room, the sofas we’ve had for years and years have either been thrown away or sold to people at dirt cheap prices. Even then hubs didn’t make a move and get new sofas. So I guess these 2 little one seaters will have to make do until I finally drag hubs out and buy a new set.

A “Whopping” Birthday Bash

Yuppers. We were there. It could be the event of the year. There were so many blogger mommies and daddies there. There are many whom I have met before, a few that I’m meeting for the first time and some that I saw but was not introduced to.

This time I wasn’t really late. When I arrived, many mommies wasn’t there yet. I managed to grab a seat with Tracy and Destinee, as well as at the same table as Shannon, Tecky and Rachel. I think maybe coz I’ve been meeting up with bloggers for a few times now that I felt less shy *LOL* (believe me, I’m not the bubbly type who can go around chatting people up).

After settling down, I went around being Santa, giving away presents to the moms of the birthday kids… Amah, Annie and Barbara. I brought my own marker to write the notes on the presents *LOL* coz I had been meaning to get cards to go with them but I ran out of time. The whole week has been too hectic. When I got to Ashley’s present, I decided to include my BLOG because I doubt her mommy knew who I was *hahaha*.

The party was a successful one, even for me when I have 2 kids who clung to me. Ivan refused to go into the playroom by himself and let mommy sit and chat with the other mommies. I managed only a few pictures myself, mainly because my camera ran out of battery. And till this day, I am still in search of the charger!

Halfway through, Jazzmint left I didn’t even notice it. I was totally engrossed in the clown playing games with the kids. But seriously, the clown is totally gross, but he was quite entertaining for the kids. Towards the end, I had to leave on time as I needed to attend another full moon party at my friend’s house (you say this month I pokai or not lah like this).

Some photos to share… enjoy!

Teeny Weeny Pool

Pictures taken on 4th June 2006

During the Agong’s birthday holiday break, Mum and myself had actually planned to bring the children somewhere nice and out of the norm, like the Cameron Highlands. I have not been there for donkey’s years, so a short retreat there would be nice. But as we were planning, there were news of landslides here and there and that put a halt in our plans. Other than the highlands, anything local did not appeal to us, as those places would be overly crowded during holidays such as this.

So that weekend I decided to just stay home at Mum’s place and let the kids have a relaxing day swimming or soaking since the pool is so small in the blow up pool. Ever since Ivan got this pool as his 1st birthday present, this is only the second time we blew it up see here for 1st use. As the children are growing up at such fast pace, I doubt the pool will see a third time being blown up as I plan on getting a new and larger pool to fit them in.

While the kids had fun in the pool, me, being the siao po (Hokkien: crazy woman), bought some bubble solution from Tesco and started blowing bubbles till I felt woozy. We also bought some water gun for them to play while soaking. Not forgetting pictures, I passed my new camera found it! to Mum for some “just cincai snap” picture session with our subjects soaked in the teeny weeny pool. During all the fun, Izac, who is still such a baby, was sleeping soundly in the house.

Euro Fun Park

An impromptu visit to Euro Fun Park at the open car park at 1 Utama. The previous evening, when we passed by the car park after shopping at Giant Fresh Supermarket, Ivan was so captivated by the bright lights and loud music. And to us adults, the mood was really fun seeing the car park packed with fun park goers. So, we decided to bring him there for some rides.

Entrance fees - Adults RM3.00, Children RM1.00
Tickets for rides - 1 token = RM2.00
Rides - most rides are 2 tokens

So-so only. For Ivan it was captivating but since he is still duck-walking a little and cannot be trusted to sit still when the rides are in motion, his choices of rides were very limited. Additionally, I am so clumsy and heavy now; I can hardly keep up with the little bugger. It was lucky hubby and SIL#1 was there. Other than that, a little expensive but for older children it should be a good experience.

Blow-Up Pool

Yesterday evening, when I left for Port Klang, I decided that today I would let Ivan have some fun in the water after seeing someone having so much fun at Port Dickson. The new pool was a gift for Ivan’s first birthday from Aunty Jenny a few months agoAfter his mid-morning nap and lunch, I went looking around for the pump which I have seen mum using to pump the inflatable bed with. After a fruitless search, it was nowhere to be found. Even mum and the maids do not recall where they have put it.Aigh… what to do but leave this pregnant woman to blow the pool up with her own breath! Huff… puff… huff… puff… Actually, it was quite easy and fast to inflate. My eager son could not contain himself as I set the pool out in the porch and climbed in while water was still being poured in. As soon as he is inside, he started splashing the water around. After a while, my sister Haslina joined in the fun.He loved the hose, but sucks in his stomach when water is sprayed onto him.He even tried to drink the pool water with great big slurping sounds. I guess we have been teaching him too much of drinking soup with such gusto! Finally, after roughly about an hour of fun, I decided it was enough soaking for one day. We had to peel him off from the pool and then bring him inside for a real bath. He put up a real fight!

Hot Wheels

Ivan has a fascination with all things on wheels.

The Bike
Whenever he sees a bike, he goes “Broom… broom!” Bikes parked anywhere will not escape his sight and he will request to be put on it. He has no preference… Harley-Davidsons, super bikes, touring bikes, scooters or even the kap chais are fine with him just as long as he gets his biking thirst quenched. His fascination with bikes goes so far that my stepfather went and bought him a bike of his own. This bike comes with rechargeable battery, which can be plugged into the wall outlet. My first thought was what a waste of money, but my mum told me it cost merely more or less RM150. Seeing how he is enjoying it so much, I guess it is money well spent.

The Car
Now, cars are no exception for this boy… I wonder if boys are born with motoring instincts. Wherever we go, he must get his turn at the steering wheel… sekejap also syok. But of course, with him, there is no such thing as sekejap. He will be seated at the driver’s seat, busy controlling the steering wheel, busy pressing on all the buttons, turning on the headlights, turning on the wiper and trying to switch the engine on or off (which luckily is still beyond him!). Luckily, these days he is better behaved. He knows when he can seat at “the” place and when he cannot.

I do hope he will not grow up to be a daredevil and go racing like so many young kids are doing these days. I know this is thinking too far ahead, but a worry is a worry.
