Little Kepochi

Ivan is an extremely observant boy. After turning 3, he likes nothing better than to ask “Why?”. This of course sometimes drives me to insanity. Most times though, his remarks from observations on adult conversations and actions leave me laughing in stitches.

Yesterday after dinner I brought the kids to Giant to shop for some necessities. The first place I stopped is at the toiletries section. I was looking at some sanitary napkins when one packaging caught my eye. It stated “Senang Di Basuh” or something like that.

::::::::::: IVAN SAYS :::::::::::

Mommy: “Pini, tengok, pad pun mau dicuci. Apa-lah, habis guna buang-lah.” *hahaha*
Ivan: “What?”

Mommy: (Still looking at the packaging and laughing with maid) “Apa-lah, mana ada orang cuci punya?” *kekeke*
Ivan: “What mommy? What is that? Must wash first then only use ah? Waaaash… then use ah?”

Mommy: “What-lah you. Why must wash. Mush wash first only use ah. You got a lot of questions hoh, everything you know.” *hehehe* (Suddenly notice a lady standing next to us also snickering at Ivan’s endless barrage of question about the pad)
Ivan: *shy and try to bury face in mommy’s clothes*

Mommy:*giggle* “You ah, cute only… everything also you know hoh…”

He never stopped there though, we the went to the clothing aisle and I was picking out some undergarments for Supini when I was asking her if she wants M or L. I was asking her this or this, this or this, when Ivan said, “Ini-lah!” and took the L sized panties, dumping them into the cart where he was standing. o.O”

Pearl of the Orient

(Backdated post, trip on 22nd - 24th September)

So Engrossed

Remember the last post I mentioned about a wedding in Penang? Well, I figured that since I’m going to have to make a trip up north anyway, I’d make it a short trip there with my mom, my brother and his wife and the kids. It’s been a long time since we went there.

We managed to book two suites at The Northam under company rates with one of my colleague. The suite was really nice, with timber flooring which I absolutely love! It was really spacious and clean, the kids had a blast running to and fro between the 2 corner suites (one being occupied by my colleague and his girlfriend).

The first night (we reached Penang about 7pm) I left for the wedding with some colleagues while mom and brother arranged their own dinner. The wedding was a huge one in one of the multi purpose hall of a church. Serving the food was DIY (they just dump the dish on your table) as I think they had really limited waiters. It was quite an experience as weddings were done in a grand way in KL.

After the wedding dinner, we (my colleagues and I) adjourned to the infamous Gurney Drive for some supper (left the kids at the hotel). As I left, I could hear Izac bawling his heart out. Kids kinda have a 6th sense about their mommy going out without them as he was practically guarding me when I went back to the hotel to change into comfy clothes. Ivan on the other hand, was too busy playing with Has and Amat to care about mommy going out *LOL*.

I must say that Gurney Drive is a really nice place to hang out at night. They have drinks like Soy Bean, Lin Chee Kang and the likes which comes in huge cups, and cost a mere RM1 each. Other than that, we also had Assam Laksa (which is just so-so), Oh Chien, some mixed chicken innards and deep fried CHICKEN SKIN! Think of all the cholesterol we were consuming!

After a little bit of lepak-king, we went back to the hotel. The kids were already fast asleep and my brother was online (he brings his notebook EVERYWHERE!).

Endless Weddings & Lost Crocs

Phew… I’ve been to 3 weddings for the past 3 weekends, one of which was in Penang. Two more to come this month, both in KL. Feeling sore for my poor pocket *heehee*.

The kids are great, except that Ivan just had fever which brought about rashes on his cheeks and a bit of small spots on his hands and legs. Now that he is well, Izac seem to have got the cough. He coughs with such a hollow sound it makes me scared to hear it. This little guy mau (want) ice whenever he sees it. He goes mau *nod nod*… mau *nod nod*… kinda like a little cat. Wonder why both he and Ivan learn to say “want” in Malay.

This past weekend has been hectic. I went to 2 warehouse sales with my mom, one for toys (this one was good) and one for clothes (which I regretted going because it was just so darn hot and the queue was horrendous!). The toy warehouse sales was good, imagine them selling Barbie dolls for RM10 when the normal price was RM25 each. They even went lower, RM15 for 2 which is a pretty good deal if you’re planning to get them for gifts to little girls. They had very limited Hot Wheels and Little People products which I was hoping to get for my boys.

Other than that, I had my hair trimmed which is a rare occasion. Then went shopping for shoes.

The towards the end of yesterday, Izac lost his Crocs. I was mental for a while there, but after I cooled down I was actually thankful that nothing happened to Izac. Losing a shoe like the Crocs is heart wrenching, but due to how we lost it (which we had NO idea) I was just thankful nothing happened to Izac. He could have took it off without us noticing or someone picked it off his feet(?), but the weird thing is no one noticed anything and the Curve really wasn’t crowded at 10pm. How we could have missed it was really mind boggling. Specially with bad things happening to kids nowadays, I’m really tempted to buy a harness for the little guy. What do you guys think? Maybe a monkey backpack harness or something similar?
